Price Oracle Overview

Chiss Protocol utilizes a sophisticated oracle framework to provide reliable, real-time price feeds for both collateral and borrowed assets. These oracles are essential in ensuring that users get fair value for their collateral and in determining appropriate borrowing limits and liquidation thresholds.

  1. ChainLink Price Feeds Integration ChainLink Price Feeds are used to obtain decentralized and reliable price data for primary assets. By aggregating data from multiple reputable sources, ChainLink helps provide accurate valuations for the collateral and borrowed assets, which are critical for ensuring stability within the protocol. This integration also minimizes the risk of data manipulation and provides resilience against single points of failure.

  2. Integrated Market Oracles (IMO) For assets that are not covered by ChainLink or those that require more nuanced pricing, Chiss Protocol utilizes its own Integrated Market Oracles (IMO). The IMO gathers price data from multiple interconnected markets and applies advanced algorithms to determine cross-asset pricing. This approach is particularly useful for assets with high correlations or when precise, real-time market insights are needed. The IMO plays a key role in ensuring that stablecoins pegged to less liquid or less stable currencies are correctly valued.
